This month we had the privilege of hosting students from Mattersey Hall Assemblies of God Bible College in the UK.

The team of 8 (7 pupils and 1 lecturer) spent a little over a week serving along side us in a variety of ways. They each had specific gifts and areas of interest but together were able to make a drastic impact on those they served at the King's Village.

Mattersey Bible College is an institution that strives to train the next generation of Christian leaders. The students who came on this trip had a wide age range and ranged from first year students to students about to graduate this June. Their interests and desires for careers after graduating differed but they have one common interest and goal, their love and passion for the Lord and their desire to share the Gospel with everyone they come in contact with.

In the mornings, the group would lead a children’s program filled with games, jewelry making and football matches. Before they would close they would share Bible stories with the children. It was perfect timing since the King’s School is currently on Easter break allowing plenty of time for fun and also giving the children nearby something fun to do. Two of the Bible students had medical backgrounds so they were able to spend time at the medical centre and nutrition centre. In the evenings the team took part in outdoor evangelism. They would go into the two nearby communities of Wuba and Kpalisogu, sharing the Gospel and praying with people. They also participated in the baptism night that the King’s International Missions Church held.

One Tuesday evening the King's Village team held an outreach in Kpalisogu. During the crusade the students performed a powerful, wordless drama explaining Jesus’ love for sinners and His saving us from sinful patterns in our lives. That evening, one of the students, Jason, shared the Gospel with the crowd, as well. Through the drama and message sharing, 16 children and about 10 adults made decisions for the Lord. After the Gospel was shared, the JESUS film in Dagbani was shown. It was a night filled with the Holy Spirit as people from different races, backgrounds and experiences came together to share the Gospel and love like Jesus does.

This team was fearless, passionate and on fire for the Lord. The way they spoke, prayed and served with everything in them showed their desire to make Jesus known. We as a staff were blessed to watch this team love on and serve the people in this region, and we were encouraged by the way they served us as well. The students took turns sharing during devotion, praying over our staff and sharing their thoughts about the organization. It’s safe to say that any one who encountered this team was left encouraged. We are thankful for their visit, for their attitude of service and for their Bible college that sees the importance of sending out their students to the nations. Please join us in praying for these students as they face the next chapters of their lives, whether it be continuing school or making career choices, and join us in praying for the Mattersey Bible College and that the Lord continues to bless them as an institution.
